Animals/Wildlife
This gallery is dedicated to one of my favorite types of photography. The patience and payoff involved in wildlife photography is like none other. Not only are you at mercy of the weather and lighting, but your success also lies in the hands of an animal that’s likely to want no part of you. Everything is a balancing act. You want to be close enough to get a good shot, but also still distant enough to respect the wildlife and give them the space they need for both of your safeties. Unlike in landscapes or cityscapes, your subject is likely to be on the move so you constatntly have to adapt and adjust your composition to accommodate. Once you’ve finally positioned yourself just right and the animal is where you want them in frame, you wait. It’s up to you now to make this opportunity count. For some it’s enough to just snap a picture and call it a day, but I always strive for more depth in my photography. Animals are so expressive and my goal is always to capture these little moments where that expressiveness breaks through. When all these elements come together, it’s just sheer magic.
