Contradictory to its name, Cape Disappointment State Park has one of my favorite backdrops to view the spectacular waves of the PNW's King Tide.  Serving as an ominous silhouette to the sunrise, the cape's  eponymous lighthouse towers high over the turbulent surf crashing below.
